Commercial Shades and Blinds for South Florida Businesses

Commercial blinds and shades for offices, lobbies, retail, and restaurants across South Florida.

Quality Blinds Solutions supplies and installs commercial blinds and shades for offices, lobbies, retail stores, and restaurants in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. We help businesses control glare, heat, and privacy with solar, roller, zebra, and motorized shades, then service them after the install.

Commercial Blinds and Shades for Every Type of Space

Commercial blinds and shades in Miami and across South Florida need to block heat and glare without making a space feel closed in. Here are the products we install most often in commercial spaces.

Roller shades

A single fabric panel that rolls up into a compact tube. Roller shades are easy to clean, look uniform across a large floor, and come in light-filtering and blackout fabrics. See our roller shades page for fabric and color options.

Solar and sunscreen shades

Woven screen fabrics that cut glare and heat while keeping your view outside. They are the default choice for offices and storefronts with direct sun.

Zebra shades

Alternating sheer and solid bands that slide past each other for adjustable light. They work well in leasing offices, waiting rooms, and lobbies. Learn more about zebra blinds.

Drapery and ceiling track

Fabric panels on wall- or ceiling-mounted track for lobbies, hospitality spaces, and conference rooms. Ceiling track can also divide a room. See custom drapery.

How Do Solar Shades Control Glare and Heat?

Solar shades are made from a tight woven screen that blocks part of the sunlight before it reaches your desks, displays, and merchandise. How much they block depends on the openness factor.

  • Openness factor is the percentage of the fabric that is open weave. Common options are 1%, 3%, 5%, and 10%.
  • Lower openness (1% to 3%) blocks more glare, heat, and UV, with less view-through. It suits west-facing offices and screens.
  • Higher openness (5% to 10%) keeps more of the view and daylight, with less glare control.
  • Fabric color matters. Darker fabrics usually give a clearer view out and less glare. Lighter fabrics reflect more heat.

We bring samples to your site so you can see each openness level against your own windows and light.

Can Commercial Shades Be Motorized?

Yes. Motorized shades let you raise or lower every shade in a room, a floor, or a building with one control. That matters for tall windows, glass walls, and spaces where staff should not be adjusting shades by hand.

  • Group control: move all shades on one facade or in one conference room together.
  • Scheduling: lower west-facing shades every afternoon and raise them in the morning.
  • Wall switches and remotes for staff, plus app control for managers.
  • Smart home control: connect shades to popular smart home platforms and voice assistants.

Existing manual shades can often be converted. See our motorized shade services.

Fabric Specs for Commercial Use

Commercial fabric choices come down to light, privacy, and cleaning. We walk through each one with you before ordering.

  • Light filtering vs. blackout: light filtering for offices and retail, blackout for conference rooms, media rooms, and bedrooms in residential units.
  • Privacy at night: solar fabrics show the inside of a lit room after dark. Pair them with a blackout or dual shade where privacy matters.
  • Cleanability: vinyl-coated and wipeable fabrics hold up better in restaurants, healthcare spaces, and high-traffic areas.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the best window shades for an office with heavy sun?

Solar shades are usually the best choice for offices with heavy sun. A low openness fabric, around 1% to 3%, blocks most glare and heat on screens while keeping a view outside. For west-facing glass, motorized solar shades on a schedule can lower automatically each afternoon, so staff do not have to adjust them by hand.

What does openness factor mean for solar shades?

Openness factor is the percentage of a solar shade fabric that is open weave. A 3% fabric lets about 3% of light pass straight through. Lower openness blocks more glare, heat, and UV but gives less view-through. Higher openness keeps more daylight and view. Most offices choose between 1% and 5% depending on sun exposure.

Can existing commercial shades be motorized?

Often, yes. Many roller and solar shades can be retrofitted with a motor if the tube, brackets, and fabric are in good condition. We check the existing hardware, available power, and window size during a site visit, then quote either a retrofit or new motorized shades, depending on which is the better long-term value for your space.

Do you repair commercial blinds and shade motors?

Yes. We repair commercial blinds and shades, including stuck or uneven shades, broken brackets and clutches, motor limit and remote programming issues, and failed motors. In many cases we can replace the motor and keep your existing fabric and hardware, which costs less than replacing the full shade. Send photos with your request to speed up the diagnosis.

What is the lead time for commercial shades?

Lead time depends on the product, fabric, quantity, and whether shades are motorized. Standard blinds and roller shades are typically faster than custom motorized systems. We confirm the lead time in your written quote and schedule installation as soon as products are ready, so you can plan around tenants, openings, or move-in dates.
